New Delhi: Further to Isuzu’s commitment to social responsibility, Isuzu Motors India donated 5 D-MAX pickup trucks to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The keys to the 5 DMAX vehicles were handed over by Mr. Takashi Kikuchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India to Shri. N Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, at the Collectorate of Vishakapatnam.

While receiving the keys to the D-MAX, Shri. N Chandrababu Naidu noted, “It is heartening to see Corporates reaching out to support us during these difficult times. Isuzu is the first Automobile manufacturer to set-up their manufacturing plant in AP and they are also the first corporate house to donate vehicles which will be used for relief efforts. I sincerely appreciate and encourage all responsible corporate citizens to come forward in rebuilding Vishakapatnam”

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Takashi Kikuchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India said, “Isuzu has always placed its corporate social responsibility as a top priority in areas of environmental preservation, educational promotion and livelihood assistance. Whether it was Flooding in Australia (2011), the Earthquake in Japan (2011) or Typhoon Yolanda in Philippines (2013), Isuzu has been among the first to reach out and help the local community in terms of manpower support or material requirements.”

Mr. Shigeru Wakabayashi, Deputy Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India said, “Words cannot express our sympathies for the people who have been affected by the cyclone Hudhud. In our humble way, Isuzu Motors India would like to extend its support and assistance to the people of Vishakapatnam as they re-build their lives. The Andhra Pradesh Government has worked proactively and very quickly in helping reduce the damage from the cyclone and we’re very happy to partner with them in this initiative”.

Isuzu aims at contributing to sustainable development of local communities by partnering with them for environmental initiatives, quality improvement and social support. Last year, Isuzu Motors India donated a vehicle training kit to ITI, Tirupati and also helped organize an intensive 3 day training course through Japanese trainers. This was to provide advanced automobile knowledge transfer to ITI staff, with the objective of developing a talented manpower pool locally.
